Support End for Windows XP

Windows XP stands out as one of the best operating systems every developed by Microsoft. It is hard to believe that Windows XP has been available for 11 years. All good things must come to an end. Support for Microsoft Windows XP will end on April 8, 2014.

What does this mean…

• Security risks. Nearly every month Microsoft needs to send out software enhancements to patch security flaws found in Windows XP. Those will no longer be created after April 2014. There no doubt be more flaws found by those looking to take advantage of the aging operating system.
• Compliance. Without flaws being patched it is likely that governing bodies will no longer allow Windows XP to pass audits of systems.
• Software Compatibility. Most software vendors have either stopped supporting Windows XP or will do so soon. This could mean that you will be unable to update software.
• Hardware Compatibility. Almost all hardware vendors have stopped selling workstation or notebooks compatible with Windows XP. Peripheral vendors such as printer makers are increasingly not including drivers for Windows XP.

Now is the time to establish a plan to replace your Windows XP workstations and notebook computers. Time is quickly running out.
